Local History of Muenchsteinach |
|
For 400 years the church and the monastery flourished. At last both were destroyed during the Peasants War in 1525. After that war the eastern part of the monastery was reconstructed at first and used by the Protestant community.
In 1528 the monastery is secularized by margrave Count Georg.
During Thirty Years War Muenchsteinach was plundered and destroyed several times. Between 1730 and 1732 the margraviate mortgaged the monastery of Muenchsteinach to the Wuerzburg diocese.
